THE NAUTICAL MILE PRESENTED BY DAILY PRESS

Kids (both young and old) can dash one nautical mile (1.15mi) through the streets of Newport News, and finish in front of onlookers at the Victory Arch. Parents may choose to run with their child if he or she needs help staying on course or is under 4 years old. Otherwise, we encourage you to stay at the start / finish line area to get great pictures!
Please note that March 12 is also Daylight Savings Time. Please set your alarm clocks accordingly.
Nautical Mile Participants Receive
- Short sleeved cotton t-shirt
- Custom finishers medal

- Personalized bib (must register before February 12, 2017)
- On course and post race refreshments
- Access to One City, One Celebration festivities including live music, food truck rally and a beer truck! (21+)
- Portable Toilets
For your convenience portable toilets will be available at the start and finish areas.

- Packet Pick-up & Finisher Items
Participants must attend packet pick-up at the One City Health & Wellness Expo to receive their bib. If you are picking up a packet for another runner, you must bring this form filled out with a copy of their picture ID. Finisher medals will be distributed to finishers during the race. None of these items will be mailed to registrants who did not participate. We encourage all runners to pick up their packet at the expo. If you choose to pick up race day, we ask that you arrive early to avoid delays.
Parking will be available at the finish area. The start line of the Nautical Mile is 1-block from the finish area and Victory Landing Park.
The Hotel Shuttle will only be making one trip to the Nautical Mile start line at 5AM. If you are staying at the Marriott at City Center please arrive to the fountain side drop off location prior to 5AM to board your shuttle. All other shuttles will be picking up in the main entrance to your hotel.
